Shannon started his journey into exercise in 2000. He was 21 years old, 55kg bodyweight and sick of being skinny. A friend took him to the gym one day and from then he never left. Shannon has competed in various sports such as Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Strongman & Powerlifting and has brought his body weight up to 120kg.
In his journey, Shannon quickly realised that the health & fitness industry was full of misinformation. This made him determined to learn more. He educated himself from textbooks, research papers, books, listening to podcasts & videos. He travelled the world to learn from some of the best weightlifters, coaches, sports scientists, therapists, researchers & Doctors.
These include Dr Layne Norton, Charles Poliquin, Dr Mike Isratel, Eric Helms and so many more.
Shannon recently worked closely with sports scientist Dr Luke Delvecchio to compare the effects of a 10 week strength & conditioning program on punching & kicking power on combat athletes.
Shannon is a certified Sports Massage Therapist & Strength and Conditioning Coach. He has worked with athletes of various sports – MMA, BJJ, Kickboxing, Boxing, Judo, Rugby Union & League, Track & Field, Highland Games, Strongman, Powerlifting, Bodybuilding & Figure, Rowing, Surf Life Saving, Iron Man, Triathlon and CrossFit and extensive work in back rehabilitation.
He has trained with world renowned MMA fighters Robert Whittaker, Ian Schaffa & Manny Rodriguez
