Online Coaching – Technical Lifting

This is a coaching service provided by expert lifting coach Shannon Green, feedback will be given after conducting a video analysis.
For further evaluation simply submit a video of yourself performing one or more of the skills you learned in our program.

Filming

  • Set your camera in an appropriate angle or have someone film you. This will help the assessor to see your technique.
  • It is important that your entire body is visible during the filming. Please don’t film too far away. If you filmed from a far distance it could be hard for the assessor to see your technique and
you’ll be asked to film again.
  • Make sure you have adequate lighting and film a test run to make sure the vision is clear for analysis
  • It’s very important that we’re able see your entire body, from your feet to the top of your head, and your hands if it’s a Press.
  • All videos should be taken in landscape mode (wide) and not in portrait mode (tall).

Place your phone about 1 metre off the ground about 3 metres  away and angle it toward you. If you don’t have a tripod, you can lean it against something like a dumbbell or water bottle.
The best angle is at 45-degrees between the front/side or rear/side (see below for best placement for each lift). Video angles directly from the side DON’T work very well because the weight plates are in the way.

  • Squat: rear/side
  • Deadlift: front/side
  • Press: front/side
  • Bench: front/side/Above
